Emergency Medicine Physician - Medical Director - Part-Time

DispatchHealth is seeking a local Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to serve in a flexible, part-time Medical Director role to support the provision of high-quality, acute and post-acute care for patients in homes, senior facilities and office settings in Tucson, AZ. Medical Director works closely with local providers, clinical staff and Market Directors to ensure that all patients receive high-quality acute care. This is a part-time contract position with an estimated time commitment of 40-60 hours a month and the Medical Director can set hours to accommodate other clinical responsibilities and jobs. The Medical Director does not go into homes with the clinical teams to provide care to patients. The Medical Director is responsible for a variety of oversight, regulatory, planning, training and recruiting activities and will support remote patient care. DispatchHealth provides professional liability/malpractice coverage.


  • M.D., or D.O.
  • Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician in Arizona
  • 5-10 years of medical experience
  • Must have an active state medical license in the state where the office is located
  • Have or be willing to obtain the required credentials to be laboratory director to the level of a Moderate Complexity laboratory
  • Active, unrestricted driver’s license


  • Laboratory director - with all regulatory requirements
  • Review provider charts and provide feedback regarding medical management of patients, documentation, appropriate billing/coding issues
  • Work with other regional directors and national director to update existing Treatment Guidelines and create new (TG’s) as required.
  • Meet with local physician leaders to integrate care
  • Provide care within local, state, national rules, regulations
  • Be part of the virtual-physician call schedule
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) access and knowledge of use
